100% recycled fiber 3dEMF composite panels that are the first and best product on the market today offering an ultra-lite and strong alternative to heavy, toxic particleboard and other standard non-sustainable panel offerings. They are 100% USDA Bio-based Certified; 100% non-toxic; no VOC’s; & formaldehyde-free.
These panels are 3 time stronger and ¼ the weight of particleboard and can be curved to custom radii offering a limitless range of design possibilities with geometric shapes and compound curves.
100% Sorghum Stalks Composite Panels
New fiberboard composite panel made from 100% hyper-renewable Sorghum stalks. They are formaldehyde-free, cost competitive and high performance building materials with interior design, furniture and construction applications.
Sorghum stalks have high cellulose content, which results in a construction product that is stronger, more durable, and provides better insulation. These composites have an aesthetically pleasing appearance, including grain lines and shapes, and variegated colors in the earth-tone palette. The structure and color of these composites gives it potential for use as a finished material.
Renewable North-American Teak
Pioneering & renewably-harvested teak lumber and top-quality teak products are grown on reclaimed ranch lands along Mexico’s Pacific coast, bypassing the high financial, environmental, and human costs of Southeast Asia’s teak trade. These beautiful conflict-free plantation teak wood products are manufactured from FSC-certified organic teak wood and are grown with a deep sense of environmental stewardship. The North-American production aspect significantly reduces transportation costs and environmental pollution related to long-haul shipping.
Teak wood’s natural ability to resist moisture, insects, cracking and warping make teak an ideal choice for outdoor applications, while teak wood’s rich exotic grain makes it highly desirable for designers and interior decorators. Teak is well known for its elegance, stability, and long-lasting durability.
FSC – Forest Stewardship Council – Certified Woods
FSC has earned a reputation as the most rigorous, credible forest certification system globally and is considered the “Gold Standard for Forest Management.” FSC’s forest management standards expand protection of water quality, prohibit harvest of rare old-growth forest, prevent loss of natural forest cover and prohibit highly hazardous chemicals, which are all unique aspects of the system.
San Diego County-Cypress Fires Reclaimed Wood
Recovered and reclaimed wood from the 2006 San Diego Cypress Fires provides a treasure of beautiful FSC Certified lumber and wood products available for use in a wide variety of sustainable furniture products. Post-wildfire lumber that is often discarded to landfills has been instead reclaimed for its design and architectural value; it is locally sourced offering diminished transportation costs.
Bamboo plywood is made from 100% rapidly renewable bamboo, using adhesives that are both strong and emissions free. Bamboo reaches maturity in 3 to 7 years and when harvested, generally stimulates new growth rather than killing the plants. Bamboo plywood can be cut and sanded using conventional woodworking equipment. Bamboo is a low resin, open grained material that takes stains and finishes exceptionally well.
This bamboo is not a food source or habitat for panda bears, which generally inhabit higher elevation forests. Despite the long-distance transport of the product to the United States, the durability, hardness, and short regeneration time of bamboo can provide justification for specifying bamboo materials instead of wood.
Reclaimed Discarded Shopping Carts & Wire Shipping Crates
Our exclusive, patent-pending line of beautiful and iconic furniture pieces are manufactured from 100% reclaimed discarded heavy-duty wire from shopping carts and shipping crates. Currently, landfills are overloaded with tens of thousands of used, broken, and discarded shopping carts and crates; our unique design and manufacturing technology creates 100% sustainable, outdoor quality, beautiful furniture for commercial and industrial applications.
Low VOC’s Phenolic Resin
Phenolic Resin is hard, heat resistant, and can be mixed with a wide range of materials for industrial and residential uses. It has significant antimicrobial properties and is one of the lowest VOC emitters existing on the resin market to date. It is heat-resistant and has no added Urea Formaldehyde in the manufacturing process. Combined with 65% FSC-certified or recycled paper creates a malleable design material that is incomparably strong and stability.
Eco-Resins – Bio-Resins
Eco-resins are polymer resins that are non-toxic, renewable, and/or solvent-free (water-based). Bio-resins are based on natural plant and vegetable extracts or renewable resources. This amazing and sustainable technology is shaping the future of casting and mold-making needs. They have little or no smell, no dangerous catalyst, and no toxic vapors. Material inputs include sunflower seed and soya bean, rapeseed, potato, corn, tapioca and yam.
Mixed glass surfaces & countertops are comprised of 73& post-consumer glass made from a wide variety of assorted architectural & art glass, beer bottles, and jars that create an expansive color palette. These recycled glass materials are extremely durable and more resistant to surface damage than other stone. Binders include low-impact white Portland cement (25%), or low-carbon recycled pozzolans and fly ash (75%).
Our steel products contain a minimum of 89.7% recycled steel from post consumer and post industrial and our aluminum holds a minimum of 92% recycled content. We use 304 stainless steel which is comprised of 15% to 20% post-consumer scrap, 40% to 50% post-industrial scrap, and 8% to 10% home scrap.
Recycled Sand Cast Aluminum
98.5% recycled aluminum reclaimed from automotive cast parts and airplane cast parts and 100% recycled aluminum sourced from automobile tire rims.
We produce our products using roto-casting and ABS plastics. Roto-casting uses LDPE low-density polyethylene plastic. The recycled content ranges from 100% to 20% – the darker the color, the higher the yield of recycled content. ABS uses HDPE high-density polyethylene with a yield of up to 80% recycled content. We heat bend the ABS to create forms. Currently we are testing PET plastics and non-petroleum-based plastics.
Innovative biodegradable EPS, Expanded Polystyrene – is an environmentally friendly material made from plant and vegetable waste, including sugar cane. It can be reused, is biodegradable, and is industrially compostable at high temperatures.
Low-emitting Powder Coating
New generation eco-powder coatings are made from 70% recycled materials, produce virtually no VOC emissions, and require less energy to cure than standard powder coatings. Powder Coating has been proven to be safer for the environment than wet paint applications. Powder Coat is solvent-free and applied electrostatically. Very little waste is produced since most powder coating overspray can be reused.
Environmental Stains, Sealants, Finishes, & Paints
Innovative line of non-polluting paints, stains, sealants, finishes and sealers that are organic, plant-based and protect and beautify your environment safely, naturally and sustainably. Entirely sourced from natural earth based plant and mineral components, these products are the first truly practical architectural coatings incorporating plant-based chemistry. Like the bark on a tree, they create a breathable layer inspired by Mother Nature herself – fully biodegradable, emitting no toxins and containing no harmful solvents, preservatives, dryers or other irritants that can contribute to poor indoor air quality or endanger your health.
Environmentally Safe Adhesives
Each of our manufactured finished products offers environmentally safe adhesives which are non-toxic, non-solvent, solvent-free, acid-free, water-based, water-soluble, low VOC (less than 1%), no-VOC, and/or have no animal derivatives.
Solar – Renewable Energy
Solar is incorporated into many aspects of our designs. When off-grid the renewable energy comes directly from the PV panels; when on-grid the renewable energy is stored in lithium batteries.
Low-impact, high-efficiency and long-lasting LED lighting is featured on many designs. The key strength of LED lighting is reduced power consumption. An LED circuit will approach 80% efficiency, which means 80% of the electrical energy is converted to light energy. Incandescent bulbs only operate at about 20% efficiency.
Most of our materials pass Greenguard guidelines and certification. The Greenguard Environmental Institute was founded in 2001 with the mission of protecting human health and quality of life by improving indoor air quality and reducing chemical exposure. The GREENGUARD Certification Program helps manufacturers create–and helps buyers identify–interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used.
